OVERVIEW The Canon LX-D5500 inkjet label printer is a reliable, flexible, and high-performance dye-based color label printing solution to deliver clear and vibrant labels, and can help improve efficiency and productivity. ABOUT THE LX-D5500 INKJET LABEL PRINTER WIDE VARIETY OF USES The LX-D5500 printer is ideal for printing vibrant, high-quality color labels on-demand. Manufacturing (food and beverage, health and beauty packaging), retail (price tags, pharmacy prescription instructions), transportation and warehousing (shipping and logistics labels), and administrative services (asset tags) are just some of the sectors and applications that can benefit from on-demand short run length label printing. Printing labels on-demand rather than printing large volumes in advance can save on storage space and label costs. Other uses include printing items such as tickets, temporary ID tags or badges, decals and stickers. HIGH PERFORMANCE The LX-D5500 printer is capable of fast print speeds up to 200 mm / 7.9 inches per second 1 , with a first print out time of 10 seconds or less. These features can help contribute to improved productivity. RELIABLE AND FLEXIBLE The LX-D5500 printer can print labels on media up to four inches wide. It can handle both roll or fanfold paper, and matte or glossy paper, for maximum flexibility. It also has nine pre-set speed options. The durable, solid-body design contributes to the printer’s reliability, with a product life of six million sheets / five years 3 , and an estimated output per cartridge set of approximately 45,000 sheets. HIGH-QUALITY PRINT IMAGES For outstanding image quality, the LX-D5500 printer produces high-resolution 1200 x 1200 dpi output, allowing for the sharp imagery of high-density bar codes and small text. It also utilizes dye-based inks for colorful and vivid prints, ideal for creating brilliant and expressive labels that can capture a customer’s attention and make products stand out. OPTIONAL REWINDER The optional rewinder accessory allows users to rewind printed labels that come out from the LX-D5500 printer for later use, and is ideal for higher-volume production label printing environments. This item is sold separately. ENVIRONMENT IN MIND The LX-D5500 printer complies with both the EU RoHS and WEEE directives for the reduction of hazardous substances and waste products. In addition, on-demand label printing can assist with sustainability efforts since it eliminates the overprint of excess labels that might become obsolete and need to be disposed of. LABEL PRINT LANGUAGE EMULATOR The Canon Label Print Language Emulator is designed to enhance the compatibility and integration of Canon label printers. This downloadable software enables Canon label printers to support existing ZPL® 7 applications seamlessly. The Canon Label Print Language Emulator also enables users to register color background images and use them behind the rendered image from ZPL commands. This free software is available via download from www.usa.canon.com/support .
